カリフォルニア サーフィントリップ 2018 6日目。

今日は、移動日。

SURFERS DREAM HOUSEをあとにして、南に下ります。

今回は、お仕事で忙しくて、一緒にサーフィンできなかったカイくんとパチリ。

彼は、サーフガイド業をなりわいとしています。

とっても優しいナイスガイなので、ベンチュラ、サンタバーバラトリップの際は、是非彼にアクセスしてみてください。

さて、ここからサンディエゴまでは、ゆっくり向かって3～4時間くらい。

渋滞にひっかかってしまいましたが、無事夕方には、目的地に到着。

一年ぶりの再会の友人のTomokoと夕飯へ。

彼女は、現地に長く住んでいるカメラマンで、日本の雑誌「カリフォルニアスタイル」や「NALU」で活躍しています。

彼女が連れて行ってくれたのは、老舗のブルワリー。

STONE BREWING

ここ、サンディエゴは、クラフトビールが有名だそうで、この近辺だけでも20以上のブルワリーが密集しています。

こうした立派なレストランを併設した工場もあれば、ドリンクスペースだけの小さな工場もあるそうです。

ここは、工場見学もできるそうです。

色々なブルワリー巡りを楽しむのが、ビール好きの醍醐味。

IPAの飲み比べコース。IPAだけでも何種類もあります。

美味しい料理とビールと楽しい会話でドライブの疲れが癒されます。

明日また会う約束をして、バイバイ。

California surfing trip 2018 Day 7.

The place where the gas is missing is freeway.

I often saw a car that is stopped on the freeway, but it does not mean that they are indeed in the same situation.

On the freeway, as there is no parking or refueling station that can be rested like in Japan, we should have checked the gasoline meter in detail.

It is difficult to carelessly catch up with the unfamiliar distance freeway and the busyness while traveling.

My friend Tomoko was subscribing to AAA (Triple A), so I got a chance.

By the way, I had a schedule due to unexpected happening from the morning, but Alrik who had taken the apo greeted us with a smile.

Alrik Yuill is a collaborator of AXXE CLASSIC WETSUITS.

He is also a shaper and an artist doing surfboard shape with his own brand "SPACETIME SURF BOARDS".

His atelier and factory seems as if it were the department of the art department.

Drawing picture and sculpture, object, paint, resin, paint, board, furniture, clothing, etc ...

His artwork is also used in trophies of surfing competitions.

He also showed me the shape room.

For a long time, Alrik has brushed his arm with a surfboard factory.

I have also shown many boards shaping with his own "SPACETIME SURF BOARS" now.

Many EPS materials are used, and many stringerless boards are used.

Using the knowledge and skills of traditional surfboard shapes that he has learned and cultivated since he was young, I will build a 

board with EPS, which is a future material, and expand it to an unknown world we have never experienced yet A lot.

So, just by looking at the board for the hand, I do not know what kind of surfing can be experienced.

So I decided to go to the beach and surf it on the Arlik board.

His surfing is beautiful and stylish with a generous line.

The waves were shore break and aggressive, but as expected.

It looks like a good wave, but it is a powerful shore break, almost like a damper.

I also joined the sea and let me take a test ride.

Board control is easy, the board accelerates gently.
